Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for Dysphagia of Lateral Medullary Infarction : A case report

Abstract

|
The patient of lateral medullary infarction undergo dysphagia about 51-94% of whole patients. Recently, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) receive attention among method of treatment for dysphagia caused by stroke. However, there was no standardized rTMS treatment protocol for dysphagia induced by brain stem infarction (especially lateral medullary infarction). In this case report, we applied rTMS ipsilaterally for dysphagia to the patient of lateral medullary infarction instead of bilateral stimulation, there was improvement of dysphagia.
